Canada’s beer baroness, and star of CBC’s Dragon’s Den Manjit Minhas has seen a lot of pitches in her day. Ever since she was announced as a Dragon on CBC’s Dragon’s Den, she’s been getting pitched different businesses and ideas everywhere (yes, even in the washroom). With so many entrepreneurs and business crossing paths with her on a regular basis, we asked her what the common denominators were with businesses she believed in, vs ones she didn’t want to go near.

Her response?

Industry, even the business idea, was way less important than the character of the entrepreneur pitching? Could they be trusted with her money and reputation? Could they stand up to scrutiny? If so, only then would she take a look at the business being pitched.
