We’re often fed a message: “if you try hard enough, and believe in yourself, you can do it!”

While that can be true (and there are more than a handful of success stories reinforcing that mantra), to Colin Knox, CEO of Calgary-based tech company Passportal, there are a lot of external factors that can affect whether or not our business idea takes off. That’s why it’s important to have a safety net, and be ready (and willing) to listen to the market. If people are not responding well to your product or service, it doesn’t mean it’s bad, it just might not be the right fit right now.
